What We’re All About
Craig and Julia were like a high percentage of players on the PEI scene - COVID happened, they started throwing plastic in the woods. A good friend of theirs decided to give it a try, took them out one afternoon to Huck It. One torrential downpour and lightning storm later, they were hooked. Later that evening, Craig was online looking for starter packs and bags.
It wasn't long after that they both decided they wanted to do more. They were thinking about possibly putting in a course somewhere on the western part of PEI, but the logistics just didn't seem to line up. They both loved Huck It, especially with the addition of the beginner friendly Chuck It track, and wondered about possibly putting in PEIs first brick-and-mortar disc golf pro shop. It was actually the 'punny' name that got the ball rolling on it. This is essentially the conversation that got it started:

Craig: 'You know what would be funny? To open a disc golf pro shop, but call it 'Throw Your Own Way' (singing in the tune of the Fleetwood Mac hit 'Go Your Own Way'.

Julia: 'Let's do it.'

Lots of planning, conversations with various provincial and local authorities, sweat and tears later, PEIs first brick-and-mortar disc golf pro shop will soon be ready to open! Located on site at Huck It Middleton Disc Golf, they will offer snacks, drinks, apparel (both Huck It and TYOW branded) and equipment to keep you refreshed and playing at your highest level. Stop in and hang out in an air-conditioned / heated space between your rounds. You'll be able to see and feel your new plastic before pulling the trigger, which most players will attest to being paramount.

While the shop itself is almost complete and ready to open, the online store is open providing some apparel to keep you looking fresh on the course. More designs and products will be added in the future, so keep an eye out.

Outside of operating the pro shop, they both enjoy 'spreading the gospel' of disc golf, taking out new people as much as they can. Disc golf has benefits for everyone, no matter their skill level. It is a great family activity, while going for a healthy hike through some lovely landscapes and terrain.

Julia and Craig would like to extend a huge thanks to property owner Charlie McCardle, allowing this vision to take shape. He has provided a ton of support, materials, funds and labor to prepare the building and the site itself. We know it has been a long process for him as well, and appreciate all of it.
